Vw Atlas comfort is horrible even with 18jnch tires. Led headlights sucks at night. I drive with high beams. When r they going to build better suv?

Hi. I own the Atlas R Line SEL. The interior is much bigger than the Q7. Wanted a family vehicle with max space without buying a suburban. VW was my choice after looking at both. Also, Map does fill the entire dash on VW. Reviewer is not familiar with vehicle.

Хороший обзор и хорошая машина. Всетаки это немец))). Только в качестве конкурента Атласа больше подходят Toyota Highlander, Subaru Ascent и Honda Pilot

I've rented the Atlas and test drove the Audi Q7 about a week ago. The Audi Q7 had terrible 2-3 seconds turbo lag. The VW has quick acceleration from 0mph but it only had adquate passing power the fwy. VW had better soundproof and turning radius than my 2014 TOyota Highlander.

For those wondering, wait for the 2021 atlas refresh. The vehicle is very large and under powered, and unreliable. Audi Q7 is built on the MLBevo platform and Atlas is built on the older, heavier MQB platform. For this big of an suv and the job is has, It needs 300-340hp mild hybrid v6. Something like the current 2nd gen audi q7 3.0 e-supercharged engine that makes 333hp. This guy gave alll the wrong details. The Touareg is whats close to Q7. If you are in dire need of a new large suv then go for the honda pilot that is still underpowered horsepower wise, but is not under-tourqed

Well Audi is a more advanced part of Volkswagen

The only one Audi better than VW is that engine(also consider the gap between their price), others all belong to Volkswagen!

Where do you put the skis if you have 6 people?

And as you see in 1.55 15 mpg (US) so it uses a lot of gas due to the dam shitty old V6 engine ! Why no fucking Diesel !!!!!

believe me i drive it 🙁

4wd system being more advance I disagree. I have s3 and Atlas 4 motion. The 4 motion handles identically.

    q7… simple atlas is junk

Compairing the Atlas to a Q7 is probably as far away as you can come. They aren't even built in the same country! The Atlas is an American car built with VW parts and is intended for the Chinese, Russian and the American markets.

It's chassis is NOT comparable at all with the Q7. If comparing with an Audi, it should be to an Q3! They share the SAME chassis!

Much more usable 3rd row in Atlas than Q7

I traded Atlas for 2018 Audi Q7. Q7 is far away from Atlas. This guy has no idea….

I test drove the 2018 Atlas a few days ago, coming from a 2003 Toyota 4runner I felt the atlas was much more bumpy. Every pothole or bump in the street could be felt where as my old toyota glides over them smoothly. Also the top of the line Atlas, the seats are very stiff and not very comfortable. I mean at almost 50k I think those 2 things are a deal breaker for me.

The Atlas & Q7 are alike in many ways, but do NOT even go to suggest they are based on the same platform. The Atlas shares more with the Golf than the Q7 which was more similar to the outgoing Touareg, which also explained its premium pricing.

The Atlas maybe big but the drivers seats in this, and pretty much all others are quite narrow and small! Why on earth make the center console so damn big and keep the most important seat so damn small? I don't get car makers any longer! The seats in the Audi are much better and a bit larger as well.

You should find different hobby man. I hope this is not your actual job. Q7 and Atlas same cars? Did you even open a hood of Atlas and Q7? If you knew anything about cars first thing you would notice is that Atlas has transverse engine and Q7 longitudinal engine. You could even Google that. Transmission is different (Atlas has Aisin, Q7 has ZF), engines are different, suspension is different, brakes are different, brake calipers are different, AWD is DEFINIATELY different, etc.

Ryan, unlike most auto journalists, you know the difference between a VR6 and a V6

Different chassis, different engine, and very obviously a different hood! I guess they will let anyone with an iPhone do a car review these days.

What? The people’s version of the Audi Q7? Can’t believe this kind of mistakes with all the information we have just in googling things. The only thing that these two vehicles share is that both have 4 wheels and both have 5 doors, other than that, they are two completely different cars. The only platform that Volkswagen shares with Audi is the one in the A3 and the TT.
