Our Mission:

Support and assist in developing culturally sensitive, competent and empowering programs whose outcome is to improve the health status of the poorest inhabitants in targeted localities in Haiti;
Encourage greater cooperation and provide travel opportunities for Haitian expatriates to contribute to the betterment of their country;
Engage citizens in the United States who are cognizant of the causes of poverty and seeks to alleviate its effect through knowledge and technology transfer;
Collaborate with institutions whose mission is to work towards the elimination of poverty and the prevention of diseases

Our project:

Petite-Riviere Health Center is a small medical clinic located in a lovely rural region called Petite-Riviere in Leogane. It was established after the earthquake and is the sole medical care provider in the region. A large number of patients are treated free of charge. Many of patients have lost their homes or family members with the earthquake. The majority of the pediatric patients have malnutrition. We have launched Sante Timoun, a child wellness program that provides nutritional, medical and psychological support to malnourished children who have lost parents during the earthquake and to children who are at risk of developing malnutrition due to increased poverty in their household resulting from the earthquake. Another component of Sante Timoun is a homestead container gardening project where families are trained to combat hunger by learning to raise nutritious vegetables in containers or raised beds small space.

Our needs:

Volunteer physicians and midlevel practitioners
Dentists
Teachers, craftsmen/women who can be creative and teach seminars, short courses and transfer other skills to a large number of young people who no longer attend schools due to the earthquake.

Financial contribution to support the Sante Timoun, the child wellness program

Donation of multi-vitamins, iron tablets, vitamin A capsule, micronutrients, high protein bars, arts and crafts supplies, eyeglasses
