The Haiti Volunteer Network is a volunteer effort. We need your help to spread the word to others -- so that people with skills, services and goods to offer can connect with the right people to make a difference.
Keep in mind that you do not necessarily have to travel to Haiti to volunteer. In fact, unless you are experienced in disaster and crisis response, you may unintentionally do more harm than good by traveling to Haiti right away (http://bit.ly/6M2Rje). However, Haiti will likely need skilled volunteers to help recover from this disaster in the months and years to come. There are also ways to use many of your skills (such as technology and language) from wherever you are.

Volunteer Bilingual Structural Engineer & Photographer

I am currently in graduate school at the Illinois Institute of Technology in Chicago, IL, pursuing a Professional Masters degree in structural engineering with a focus on risk and reliability in engineering, safeguarding systems from disasters (earthquake, tornado, fire, blast…), and finite element analyses. I will be done with grad school within the year and I seek a volunteer opportunity amongst disaster relief efforts to bring my study of safety in engineering and to bring my passion of service into life.

I can do simple procedures by myself. Usually I can work as a medical assistant or 1st year surgical intern. If its a very complex procedure that requires 2 other surgeons, I can work as a surgical assistant.
Even if not working in surgical, I can bounce in other departments of medicine, i.e. Emergency medicine, pediatrics.

Volunteering Offer for Water and Wastewater Treatment

Looking for volunteer deployment of 1-2 months, with probability of returning in the future. I have a lot of experience in living in remote areas and living out of a backpack. I'm an active volunteer with American Red Cross, among others, but am learning that it takes a long time to qualify for international assignments. I speak fair Spanish and a little French.

I would simply like to be of assistance during a terribly precarious time for Haiti. The world's eye is slowly turning away from the travesty in Port au Prince and around the country as other natural disasters and global issues distract those that have worked to place Haiti in the forefront of the world's mind in recent months. Whether it is fundraising and recruiting in the United States or volunteering for any form of development projects I would simply hope for the opportunity to make a difference and continue to ensure that we all do not forget about Haiti in this great time of need.
